Eco 4" Paint roller sleeves, mid pile - Licktools Roller Sleeve (x4 pack)

A pack of 4" eco roller sleeves for the smaller bits that still need a roller finish.

These are the sleeves I would use when a 9" roller is too big and a brush would leave too many marks. Around windows, behind radiators, inside cupboards, on panelling, narrow walls, shelves, alcoves, furniture, and those annoying little sections where a big roller just feels clumsy.

I use these with the 4" bamboo handled roller frame, and find they make the fiddly parts of a job much easier. You still get that rolled texture, rather than a brushed edge sitting next to a rolled wall. That matters more than people think, especially when the light hits the wall from the side.

The mid pile is a good everyday choice. It holds enough paint to be useful, but it is not so fluffy that it feels messy. Good paint pick-up, low splatter, and no annoying bits of fibre getting left behind in the finish.

The pack of four is handy too. Use one for your main wall colour, one for a primer, one for a darker colour, and keep one spare. Much better than washing out the same sleeve halfway through a job because you suddenly need to do a different colour.

The core is made from recycled plastic, with a recycled polyester mid pile nap. So it is a more considered choice than a standard roller sleeve, but it still does the job properly. That is the important bit.

Useful bits to go with this.

If you are painting walls or ceilings, it is worth having the right tray, roller frame, and sleeves together. The paint tray set is the easiest starting point if you want everything in one go.

For bigger areas, use the 9" mid pile roller sleeves. They are best for main walls, ceilings, and larger flat sections where you want to cover the surface quickly and evenly.

For smaller areas, awkward corners, furniture, panelling, and trim, the 4" mid pile roller sleeves are really handy. They give you a roller finish in places where a 9" roller feels too big.

The 2.5L paint kettle is also useful for cutting in, touching up, or moving around the room without carrying a full tin of paint. Pour a sensible amount in, use what you need, then put any leftover paint back in the tin.
