Floor Cleaners & Care for Oiled and Waxed Wooden Floors

Oiled and waxed wooden floors need a different approach to cleaning than sealed or lacquered surfaces. These natural timber finsihes are designed to remain breathable, allowing the wood to regulate moisture and age well. Using the wrong cleaner can strip protective oils, dull the floor surface, or create a patchy and tired look.

Our floor cleaners are designed to gently clean and nourish wooden flooring finished with oils, waxes, and hardwax oils. Used correctly, they will clean daily grime away effectively whilst preserving the finish.

Why Oiled & Waxed Floors Need Specialist Cleaners

Unlike varnished floors, oiled and waxed wooden floors aren't sealed with an impermeable film. Standard household cleaners and too much water can remove protective oils, dry out the wood, and reduce the lifespan of the finish. Specially designed floor cleaners will clean and nourish wood without stripping away those protective waxes and oils. Choosing the right cleaner is an important factor in keeping oiled and waxed floors looking good long term.
