Interior Satin Paint - Eco friendly satin paints for wood & walls
Interior 'satin paint' is used quite interchangeably with eggshell paints, as fundamentally they just have a bit more sheen than the standard flat matt emulsion paints. The higher sheen helps make them a little more durable and easier to clean.
Satin paints like the Auro 517 satin paint or the Graphenstone Satin are commonly used in kitchens and bathrooms, or rooms where you want to paint the trim with the same paint as the walls. We also have exterior satin wood paint as an external option.
What is the difference between eggshell / satin and regular emulsions? The sheen level (higher sheen in eggshell/satin than matt) but also eggshell and satin paints are more often used for wood trim such as skirting boards, painting doors and interior window frames and things like that.
Best satin paint for interior wood? The Auro 517 eggshell / satin is a great option for coloured interior and exterior woodwork, I use this on some of my skirting boards. If you want just white, the white only Auro 517-90 is what you need. The Graphenstone Grafclean eggshell is also a good choice for interior wood and trim.
