Mineral White – Natural Silicate Paint for Damp & Mould-Prone Rooms
Mineral White is a true silicate paint — potassium silicate, chalk and mineral pigment, not plastic — that bonds into your wall for a deep, flat, stone-like matt. A natural high-grade silicate, and the breathable choice for bathrooms, kitchens and damp, mould-prone rooms. Over 96% natural raw materials, no solvents, no added preservatives, and barely any VOC. Every ingredient is printed on the tin.
The natural silicate for damp & mould-prone rooms
Mould needs two things to take hold: moisture, and a surface to settle on. Ordinary plastic emulsion seals a wall behind a film that condensation beads on; Mineral White works the other way. It’s exceptionally breathable, so water vapour passes through the wall instead of collecting on its face, and it cures to a hard, naturally alkaline mineral surface — a world away from the soft plastic film of a standard paint. High diffusibility and high alkalinity are why silicate paint has been the decorator’s traditional choice for bathrooms, kitchens, cellars, utility rooms and cool, condensation-prone north-facing walls for well over a century. It manages moisture and lets a room breathe, rather than trapping the damp that troublesome walls thrive on.
Mineral White is a breathable mineral paint, not a biocidal treatment. If a wall already has active mould, treat the underlying cause and clean the mould first, then finish with Mineral White.
Why it’s different
Most modern wall paint is, essentially, liquid plastic: a petrochemical film that sits on your wall. Mineral White belongs to an older and cleverer tradition. It’s a true silicate paint, the kind used on European buildings for well over a century, made from potassium silicate (liquid glass), chalk, mineral pigment and water. Rather than coating your wall, it bonds with the plaster beneath and mineralises, becoming part of the wall itself — a finish paint cannot fake: a deep, soft, stone-like matt that holds light instead of reflecting it.
It needs no added preservatives — its own mineral alkalinity keeps it fresh in the tin — so none of the isothiazolinones behind most paint allergies. And because a finish that bonds into the wall doesn’t peel, it lasts: paint you don’t have to redo is the greenest paint there is. Made in Germany by a leading natural paint specialist, with 100% of the recipe declared on the tin.

The honest bit
We believe eco claims should survive contact with the small print. Mineral White is about 96% natural; the small remainder includes an acrylate resin dispersion that stabilises the paint, and we’d rather tell you that than round up. In the tin the paint is strongly alkaline — that’s how it stays fresh without preservatives — so protect eyes and skin while painting and rinse splashes off straight away; once cured it is simply mineral. Keep out of the reach of children. If medical advice is needed, have the container or label to hand. Ventilate well while painting and drying. Don’t pour into drains or soil. Safety Data Sheet available on request.
