Graphenstone Siena vs Bauwerk Limewash
Bauwerk make a proper natural limewash, so this isn't one good paint against one bad one. The two part company on the things that settle most interior jobs: how hard the finish is once it's dry, and whether you can prove what's in the tin.
| Graphenstone Siena | Bauwerk Limewash | |
|---|---|---|
| Finish | Soft, chalky, mottled lime look | Soft, chalky, mottled lime look |
| Durability | Class 1 wet scrub (EN ISO 11998), the top band. Wipes clean once cured | No wet scrub rating on the data sheet. Softer traditional limewash, marks more readily |
| Certifications | Cradle to Cradle Gold, EPD, EUROFINS Indoor Air Comfort | 100% green power, light footprint. No third-party certificates on the data sheet |
| VOC | Under 1 g/l, A+ rated, trace VOCs under 0.1% | Not stated on the data sheet |
| Green building schemes | Documented data for BREEAM, LEED, WELL and SKA | No EPD or certificates to submit |
| Interior or exterior | Interior only | Interior and exterior masonry |
For an interior wall or ceiling, Siena is the stronger choice. You get the same lime look, you can clean it without it chalking off your hand, and the certificates are there when a job calls for them. That covers most of what people are actually painting.

For exterior walls, I would recommend the Graphenstone GCS Exterior Lime based paints
