Can exterior wood stain be used indoors? Yes, exterior woodstains like the Auro can be used for indoors as well as outdoors, the same great eco credentials!

Can you paint over exterior stained wood? Yes you can, if you are overpaint existing plastic / chemical / standard big brand wood stains then make sure you sand back as far as you can ideally, then over paint with the Auro 560 wood stain, or over paint with any of of our exterior wood paints such as Auro 517 satin wood paint.

Oil vs Water based wood stains

The Auro 560 is a water based natural wood stain, high performing a very durable. Traditionally wood stains were mostly oil based, but modern recipes are so good that oil baed is more hassle that it is is worth. About natural wood stains

Our exterior wood stains are made from natural, renewable ingredient like linseed oil and plant based pigments. Natural wood stains are low voc, non toxic, and water based.

Eco friendly composition is combined with high durability, and breathability.

Exterior wood stain colours

Our main exterior wood stain Auro 560 is available in a vast range of colours, as well as clear. All colours and shades protect wood against UV damage and water. Auro 560 is our most modern natural woodstain and highly recommended.

Exterior clear wood stain. If you need an exterior clear wood stain, choose Auro 560 in 'transparent'. This wood stain is also UV protective even as a clear / transparent!

Black wood stain exterior. If you are looking for a  black or very dark exterior wood stain, then have a look at 'dark night' or space grey'

Grey exterior wood stain. If grey woodstain is more your thing, then have a look at the shades as follows, 'moon rock', 'copper grey', 'fossil' or 'thunder', all of which are excellent grey exterior stains for external wood. 

Dark wood stain. If you just want a dark wood stain, then you have loads of choice. Popular dark wood stains would be palisander, dark night, space grey, brunette, bear, or bangkirai.
